Angola: Fight Against Illiteracy in Armed Forces Defended

Huambo — The assistant commander of the Centre Military Region, brigadier Simeão Domingos Francisco, said last Thursday, in Huambo City, that the fight against illiteracy in the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) is a demand from the higher command and is included in the priorities of the FAA.

In view of this, he explained, the fulfilment of such demand is deemed urgent for all military units in the Centre Military Region, which comprises the provinces of Huambo, Kwanza Sul, Benguela and Bié.

The brigadier said so during the opening ceremony of the 6th seminar for literacy teachers of the central region's military units, which is happening under the motto "Literate Angola, Developed Angola".

Simeão Domingos Francisco stressed that the literacy teachers have the mission to eradicate illiteracy from the military units.

The seminar will last three days.
