Egypt: Electricity Minister Reports On Dabaa Nuclear Program to Morsi

President Mohamed Morsy will review a report on economic and technical feasibility studies of the Egyptian Dabaa nuclear project that will be presented by Electricity and Energy Minister Dr. Hassan Younis.

Younis reviewed a report on Sunday 8/7/2012 about the Dabaa nuclear power plant.

The report, to include the reasons behind adopting a nuclear program to set up nuclear power plants to produce electricity, will be forwarded to the Cabinet to be reviewed by President Mohamed Morsi.

The report also pointed out the benefits of the project, which will create jobs, improve infrastructure around the area and develop health and educational services.

The nuclear power plant in Dabaa project has been controversial since its announcement under ousted president Mubarak. The project opposed by the local community and tourism developers in the area who raised environmental concerns about the potentially devastating effects of the nuclear power plant.
