President Mohamed Mursi's decree to suspend Field Marshal Mohamed Hussein Tantawi's decision to dissolve parliament does not contest the Constitutional Court's ruling, said Mursi's acting spokesperson Yasser Ali.

Mursi's decision came to apply the constitutional court's ruling, Ali added in a statement, insisting that there is no dispute between the president and Egypt's judiciary, reported the Middle East News Agency.

Egypt's newly-elected president decided on Sunday to halt Field Marshal Mohamed Hussein Tantawi's decision to dissolve the elected Islamist-led assembly.

Tantawi's decision had come in light of the Supreme Constitutional Court's ruling that the parliamentary elections law was unconstitutional.
