Rep. Farouk Lawan stands accused of receiving bribe from oil marketers.

Oil magnate, Mr. Femi Otedola has said that he never denied the authenticity of the audio recordings broadcast by the Channels Television during the proceedings of the House Committee on Ethics and Privileges.

Some national dailies (excluding LEADERSHIP) had reported a lawmaker, Hon. Ibrahim Bello, as saying, contrary to media reports, that Otedola had told the panel probing the Farouk Lawan $620,000 bribery saga, that he had no knowledge of the video evidence in circulation.

In a press statement he issued through his lawyer, Babajide Koku (SAN), in reaction to the statement credited to Bello, Otedola said he only stated that he was not the one that gave the audio recordings to the media houses.

Bello, who represents Igabi Federal Constituency of Kaduna State, told journalists in Abuja that Otedola had disowned any video of the said illicit transaction.
