Tunisia: Research City Project Examined

Tunis — Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali conferred, on Tuesday in Tunis, with Egyptian scholar Ahmed Zewail, Nobel Prize winner in Chemistry (1999).

According to a Presidency of the Government's communiqué, the meeting was an occasion to discuss revolutions in the Arab Spring countries and its outlook.

The two sides discussed the creation of an innovative scientific project in line with changes in the region and in interaction with scientific progresses in the world.

In this regard, the Egyptian scholar said that he had examined with the Prime Minister and concerned Ministers, a project to create a research city, as the Zewail Sciences City in Egypt, a project that would contribute to reinforce skills and knowledge in the higher education and scientific research fields and offer important job opportunities, the communiqué reads.
