Angola: Military Chief Calls for Navy Effectives' Readiness

Cabinda — The commander of the military region of the northern Cabinda Province, lieutenant-general, Eugénio Figueiredo, on Tuesday appealed to the effectives of the Navy to maintain the spirit of readiness in defence of the region's territorial waters.

Speaking at the Marine Unit, located in the municipality of Malembo, Cabinda Province, lieut.-gen. Eugenio Figueiredo considered the mission of this branch of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) to be noble, tasked with safeguarding the national waters.

At the ceremony that marked the 36th anniversary of the Angolan Navy (MGA), the military chief pointed out that the time ahead will require from all staff civic and patriotic duty.

"It is necessary for all to fulfil their patriotic duty of voting, which is something that dignifies the person " he said, adding that with this act the citizens choose their representatives in the country's sovereignty organs.

The commander of the Command of Navy in Cabinda, Manuel Sieta, also appealed to his staff to continue fulfilling their missions with zeal and dedication.
