Tanzania: Family Planning Vital for Development

TANZANIA is among African countries attending the International Family Planning Summit that began in London yesterday, a forum that is of crucial significance to the country and other developing nations.

The aim of the London Summit on Family Planning is to raise $4 billion to expand access to contraception for 120 million women in the developing world by 2020, according to organizers. The United Nations figures show that about 220 million women in the developing world who do not want to get pregnant, cannot get reliable access to contraceptives.
