Bauchi — The Bauchi State government, police and officials of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) have denied rumour of bomb blast at the NYSC orientation camp in Wailo, Ganjuwa Local Government Area of the state.

Our correspondent reports that yesterday there was a rumour in the state that a bomb exploded at the orientation camp.

Reacting to the rumour, Chief Press Secretary to the Bauchi State Governor, Mr Ishola Michael Adeyemi said, "When we heard about the supposed explosion, we went there, and there was nothing like that.

The story is false. It is not true, I visited the place myself. We don't know where the rumour came from, but government has provided adequate security for the corps members".

Also speaking, the state's Police Commissioner, Mohammed Ladan said, "The story is just a fabricated lie by enemies of peace. Nothing happened in that area, corps members are safe and people are going about their normal businesses".

An official of the NYSC, who spoke to Daily Trust, said activities at the camp are going on smoothly.
