Angola: Police Detain Over 30 Criminals in Cazenga

Luanda — The National Police have detained 37 suspected criminals believed to be highly-dangerous and recidivists gang members during micro-police operation carried out on Wednesday dawn in high density suburb of Cazenga district, in Luanda.

Speaking to the press, the second commander of the National Police, Paulo Gaspar de Almeida, said that during the operation the corporation seized six firearms of various calibre, recovered 13 stolen vehicles, nine motorcycles and undisclosed quantities of drugs (marijuana) and various items.

According to the police senior officer, the detainees, aged between 18 and 35, are accused of being involved in voluntary homicide, illegal possession of firearms, drugs and stolen vehicles.

They are also charged with involvement in raids targeting roads, houses and shops, rape and other offences.
