Gambia: Assailant Sent to Mile II

Magistrate Landing Sanneh of the Bundung Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, 10th July, 2012 convicted and sentenced one Kingsley Ayomolt to a jail term of one year without an option of a fine.

The convict was standing trial on one count of assault causing actual bodily harm, contrary to the laws of The Gambia. The particulars of the offence stated that on the 19th day of June 2012 at Kerr Serign, in the Kombo North, West Coast Region, the convict unlawfully assaulted one Felix Ikechukwu by stabbing him all over his body, which caused harm, thereby committed an offence.
