Liberia: Ex-STAR Radio Employees Express Sadness

Former employees of the defunct Independent STAR Radio-Liberia have learnt with great sadness and grief the death of one of their colleagues, Veronica Kpan.

Journalist Kpan died on late Tuesday, (10 July 2012) while undergoing medication at the Du-Side Hospital in Harbel, Margibi County, following a protracted period of illness.

This statement conveys our outmost and sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to the family of journalist Veronica Kpan.

We believe the irreparable loss of journalist Veronica Kpan is a loss not only for her family but for Liberia as a whole because of her immense contributions to Liberia’s democracy through the media.

Until the collapsed of STAR Radio in late 2010, Journalist Veronica Kpan was producer of the fascinating and interrogative program "Ask The Expert".

Prior to her death, she worked with Firestone Radio in Harbel, Margibi County.

Meanwhile, an emergency meeting of all former STAR Radio employees has been called for this Friday, 13 July, at 2pm at the headquarters of the Press Union of Liberia on Clay Street in Monrovia.
