Namibia/Egypt: Warriors B Draw With Egypt

The Namibia B team on Tuesday played to a goalless draw against Egypt at the Accra Sports Stadium to remain unbeaten in the tri-nations tournament.

Assistant coach Ricardo Mannetti said it was tactically challenging affair but that his side gave a good account of themselves.

"It was not easy to play two highly ranked teams in the space of three days. Egypt packed their defence after watching our boys give Ghana a lot of problems. They played a very cautious game. both teams had chances but we had the better ones", said Mannetti via Facebook.

In their opening game on Sunday, the Brave Warriors B team held host Ghana to a 2-2 as they came from two goals down at the break. Midfielder Willy Stephanus got a goal back for the Namibians with a well taken free-kick and moment's later Civics striker Sadney Urikhob drew his side level from a spot-kick.

In the final game of the tournament tomorrow, Ghana - whose coach Orlando Wellington resigned after failing to beat Namibia - will take on Egypt.

The result against Namibia is said to have increased the pressure on Wellington as he continued deliver positive results for the Black Satellites.

Ghana and Egypt are preparing for the start of the Africa Youth Championship qualifiers which start later this month, while Namibia will continue to play a series of friendly games against clubs and academies in Ghana.
