AfDB Co-Hosts Second African Women Economic Summit

The president of the African Development Bank (AfDB, Donald Kaberuka, will speak at the Second African Women Economic Summit, which opens in Lagos, Nigeria, on 12 July.

The AfDB is the co-host of the summit along with the women's group, New Faces, New Voices, set up by Graça Machel, the first lady of Mozambique, who will also be speaking at the gathering which continues until 14 July.

The summit will bring together representatives from African governments, research and academic institutions, non-governmental organisation, major companies and civil society to discuss topics around the development of women in finance and their access to finance.

The Nigerian finance minister, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, will deliver the keynote speech.
