Egypt: Mursi Says Will Visit Ethiopia Next Sunday

President Mohamed Mursi said he will visit Ethiopia next Sunday to attend the African summit set to be held in Addis Ababa on July 15 and 16, emphasizing that Egypt will be united again with Africa and with the Nile basin countries.

Ethiopian ambassador to Egypt Mahmoud Dirir considered Mursi's imminent visit to Ethiopia to represent turning over a new leaf between both countries. Relations between Egypt and Ethiopia are eternal and greater than any crisis, Dirir added.

"What Egypt and Ethiopia have goes beyond the Nile," Dirir told al-Masry al-Youm newspaper. He described the visit as "a positive step for Mursi", adding that it contributes to Ethiopia's aspirations in widening horizons and taking positive steps towards relations between the two countries.
