CHIPOLOPOLO striker, Rodger Kola scored a superb goal on Wednesday in the Belgium Pro League side KAA Gent's 1-0 win in pre-season friendly match against Germany Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen at BayArena in Leverkusen.
Kola was a menace to Leverkusen defenders all afternoon and spiced up his scintillating performance with a 75th minute goal in his first full match for the 1964, 1984 and 2010 Belgium Cup winners.
The goal, described by Gent's Twitter page as "Sweet like Kola...," was Kola's third in four pre-season matches for the Ghent-based team that signed him from Israeli Premier League side, MS Ashdod in May on a five-year contract.
He was later denied a brace in the 79th when his strike from five yards was blocked by German defender Omer Toprak.
A German Tom, who watched the match, said Kola was a marvel to watch, tormenting the 2002 UEFA Champions League losing finalists who finished fifth in last season's Bundesliga won by Borussia Dortmund.
Tom said it was a well-deserved win for the Trond Sollied-coached Gent because they dominated play in all departments.
Kola made his unofficial Gent debut last month-end as a second half substitute, scoring a brace in the 11-0 demolishing of second division side KSK Heist 11-0 in a friendly.
Kola is expected to make his Belgium Pro League debut on July 29 when Gent host Lierse at the 13, 000-capacity Jules Ottenstadion in Gentbrugge in week one of the 2012/13 domestic season.
Gent snapped up Kola after his impressive performance in the Israeli top flight last season when he scored five goals in 17 games in his debut season at the Port of Ashdod side coupled with the 11 goals he scored for LeZion in 29 matches the previous season.
