Egypt: Morsi Pays Tribute to Veteran Journalist Salama Ahmed Salama

President Mohamed Morsi on Thursday 12/07/2012 paid tribute to prominent journalist Salama Ahmed Salama who passed away at the age of 80 on Wednesday, presidential spokesman Yasser Ali said.

Salama was born in Cairo in 1932, and obtained his BA in philosophy in 1953. He then obtained a scholarship to pursue his higher studies in Germany, while becoming a foreign correspondent for Akhbar al-Youm. He stayed for four years, returning to Akhbar al-Youm in 1964 as diplomatic affairs editor.
