Internal Security acting minister Yusuf Haji has gone ahead to appeal the court decision which declared the appointment of the county commissioners illegal.
Haji has disregarded advice by the Attorney General Githu Muigai and filed a notice of appeal to overturn Justice Mumbi Ngugi's verdict delivered a fortnight ago. The decision to appeal is likely to cause friction within the Cabinet as some of his colleagues, including Justice and Constitutional Affairs minister Eugene Wamalwa, have already come out to criticise the appointment and deployment of the county commissioners.
