Liberia: PUL Saddened Over Death of Journalist Kpan

The Press Union of Liberia (PUL) has announced with profound sadness the death of another Liberian journalist, Veronica Kpan. Journalist Kpan, a former employee of the defunct Star Radio, is reported to have died on Tuesday, 10 July 2012, while undergoing medical treatment at the Duside Hospital in Harbel, Margibi County, following a period of illness.

Veronica worked in the Liberian media for several years and won the respect of her colleagues as one of the country's dedicated and professional female journalists.

Until the collapsed of STAR Radio in late 2010, Journalist Kpan was producer of the fascinating and informative program "Ask The Expert". She lately worked for the Voice of Firestone Radio in Harbel until her demise. She also previously worked for the News and the Analyst newspapers.

The Union describes her loss as another blow to the journalism profession in Liberia and extends sympathy to her family, relatives and friends. The Union will shortly open a book of condolence in honor of the fallen journalist ahead of funeral arrangements, which are being finalized with the immediate family.
