South Sudan: Special UN Representative to South Sudan Visits Yambio

The Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG) of the United Nations and head of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan, Hilde F. Johnson is scheduled to pay her first visit to Yambio, the state capital of Western Equatoria today Tuesday 17 July 2012.

During the one-day visit, the SRSG is expected to meet Western Equatoria State Governor Joseph B. Bakasoro to discuss issues pertaining to the implementation of the UNMISS mandate in Western Equatoria State.

The SRSG will also meet with representatives of civil society, political parties, the African Union Regional Task Force on the LRA, members of the United Nations Country Team, as well as UNMISS staff.
