Egypt: Constituent Assembly Chooses 12 Reserve Members in Place of Absentees

The constituent assembly's session on Tuesday - which is the fifth - is critical for the members who were absent for five consecutive sessions as reserve members will be chosen in their place starting the next session, head of the assembly, Judge Hossam al-Ghariani, said.

10 members of the assembly were absent on Tuesday during the session held at the Shura Council headquarters, al-Ghariani added.

In addition to those 10, two Shura MPs, Ali Fath al-Bab and Taher Abdel Mohsen, did not attend the session as well after they resigned to put an end to calls for dissolving the assembly.
