Nigeria: Yuguda to Pay Allowances to Tsangaya Teachers, Imams

Bauchi — The Bauchi State government will soon commence payment of monthly allowance to teachers of Tsangaya Qur'anic schools and imams.

Director General, Bauchi State Tsangaya Education, Sayyadi Aliyu Dahir, stated this when he visited the emirs of Ningi, Katagum and Misau. He said already, government has constructed class room blocks, provided generators and motor cycles for Tsangaya schools in the state.

He added that the government will also assist the schools with feeding and clothing during the Ramadan period. The Director General urged the emirs and teachers to cooperate with the government in its efforts to provide quality Qur'anic education.

In their separates remarks, the emir of Katagum, Alhaji Muhammadu Kabir Umar, emir of Misau, Alhaji Ahmadu Muhammadu Wabi and that of Ningi, Alhaji Yunusa Danyaya, pledged their support for the programme, and urged the state government to sensitize Qur'anic school teachers in the rural areas to enable them embrace the new programme.
