Tanzania/Kenya: Mafunzo Contain Tusker in Dar Duel

Tusker made a so-so start in the Cecafa Kagame Cup after being held 0-0 by battling Mafunzo from Zanzibar yesterday. Athletico of Burundi cemented their place at the top of Group "C" after whipping Wau Salaam of South Sudan 5-0 in their last group match of the ongoing Cecafa Kagame cup It did not take long for Athletico to break the resistance of Wau who had conceded seven goals in their last two matches

Playmaker Christian Mbilizi found diving Getereste with a neat through ball and the lanky striker did not waste his chance beating Mubaraka Saleh with a low shot in the third minute This was clear testament to Wau's indisputable talent but no experience as they possessed the ball without makign much headway in the Athletico half. They survived several scares but ulitmately their defence was breached yet again in the 39th minute when Mbilizi found his midfield partner Hussein Ciza who doubled their lead going into the break.

When the second half resumed the Burundian champions threatened to open the floodgates as they scored three goals in 12 minutes. After Mbilizi had missed a one on one chance with Saleh from the ensuing corner defender Fred Nsabiyumva rose unchallenged and headed the third goal in the 48th minute

Wau could not bring themselves to launch an immediate repsonse and the fourth goal came in quick succession when Burundian international Kevin Ndayisega was fouled in the box and Emery Nimubona made it 4-0 ten minutes into the second half . The rout was completed in the 57th minute when Ndayisega got the goal he so craved.
