Asaba — As the National Assembly kick-starts the process of the new phase of the amendment of the 1999 constitution, governors have warned against stripping them of immunity and demanded state police.
Addressing journalists at the weekend in Asaba, Delta State Capital, after his presentation at the retreat organised by the Senate Committee on Constitution Review, the chairman of the Nigerian Governors' Forum and Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi said removing the immunity clause from the constitution would distract governors from discharging their responsibilities.
