Nigeria: Zamfara Announces Hajj Fare

The Zamfara State Pilgrims Welfare Agency has fixed N622,432 as minimum fare for the 2012 Hajj for men and N623,431 for women.

Public Relations Officer of the agency, Alhaji Yakubu Yahaya, gave the figures in an interview with newsmen in Gusau yesterday. He said intending male pilgrims from the state, who want to receive medium basic travelling allowance of $750, would pay N658,631 as their fare.

According to him intending female pilgrims in that category (medium) will pay N659,631 for the exercise.

Yahaya advised intending pilgrims, who deposited money for this year's Hajj, to ensure completion of their fares before the end of July. He said the agency has completed arrangements for suitable accommodation and transportation for the pilgrims while in Saudi Arabia.
