Nigeria: Rotary Battles Polio Via Soccer

The Rotary District 9125 recently took its campaign against polio in Nigeria to another level with a football match between the men's wing of the service organisation and the women's wing of the body.

The match which was organised by the Abuja Presidents Forum of Rotary International took place at the Old Parade Ground, Abuja to enhance exercise among Rotarians."

For the outgoing President of Rotary Club of Asokoro, Nze Kanayo Chukwumezie, the exercise shows the unity in Rotary, saying that the women's wing of the service organisation,have been fully integrated in the Rotary to advance the advocacy to ensure that polio is kicked out of Nigeria. It was gathered that Rotary clubs in Abuja executed over 30 projects in areas of micro-credit, water projects, library equipment among others. Three new clubs also joined the fold.
