Windhoek — After having hosted the glamorous Namibia Annual Music Awards (NAMAs) successfully, the defunct Ramatex textile factory will this time around play host to yet another unforgettable boxing extravaganza, featuring no less than three title bouts.
Come tomorrow, local boxing enthusiasts can brace themselves for a bumper night of blood, sweat and tears, when crowd favourite and former World Boxing Association (WBA) lightweight champion Paulus 'The Hitman' Moses locks horns with former South African International Boxing Federation (IBF) super featherweight champion Cassius Baloyi, in a WBO international lightweight title fight over 10 rounds of heated action.
At 34, 'The Hitman' is still determined to unlock his full potential and will stop at nothing to redeem himself in order to get another crack at the world title. He currently boasts a record of 28 wins and 2 losses from 30 bouts in the paid ranks, while Baloyi holds an impressive record of 37 wins, 6 losses and 1 draw from a total of 44 fights.
In other action, former WBO interim welterweight champion Tyson Uushona will exchange blows with South African Isaac Hlatshwayo for the vacant WBO welterweight title over 12 rounds, in what promises to be an all-out affair. Meanwhile, undisputed WBO Africa bantamweight champion Paulus 'The Rock' Ambunda will trade blows with Brazilian opponent William Prado, in a WBA/WBO world title eliminator.
WBO flyweight boxer Abmeck Shindjuu will also be in action, when he squares up against Khanyekude Mukhansi for the vacant WBO Africa flyweight title. Namibia's internationally-acclaimed boxing promoter, Nestor "Sunshine" Tobias, confirmed that tickets for the event will be available at Computickets at Shoprite supermarkets and the Namibia Boxing Federation (NABF), at the following prices:
VIP ticket N$500, middle row ticket N$200 and tickets for the grand stand will go for N$50.
Various artists led by The Dogg, Tequila, Stefan Ludik, Linda, Nakale and many others will also grace the night with some lively performances in between the fights.
