Nigeria: Ground Zero in 5D Tech Entertainment

It's like Disney Island in reality and the feeling is indescribable. Sitting on red leather upholstery with a 5D pair of specs, suddenly, the electric motor fixed at the base of the chairs come alive and you are there imagining a roller coaster journey taking you through the fantasy lands.

The journey is not smooth however, sometimes large snakes pop up, bridges break, protruding sharp objects suddenly appear and you find yourself ducking your head from right to left. Meanwhile it is all make -believe because you are sitting in one place.

In fact a simple act of removing the glass reduces the exercise to watching a television on an uneasy leather seat. But the fun is that after a round which lasts about 10 minutes, the participants are highly elated with some reliving stories of having forgotten their problems, pains and worries while on the imaginative roller coaster trip. That is the beauty of 5 Dimensional, 5D, technology which an entertainment centre, Ground Zero has brought to Nigeria.

Located at the heart of Ebutte Metta area of Lagos, the company says it was making it easy for Nigerians to also enjoy the 5D, the latest multi-dimensional, digital technology introduced in cinemas all over the world. Grand Zero is making a debut of it in Nigeria and entire West Africa. It also promised to build cinemas with the technology in all the six geo political zones in Nigeria.

The 5D experience is a computer technology that makes movie as interactive as possible with viewers totally involved. They wear glasses, being the platform where the software works, to further accentuate the experience.

According to Grand Zero, the entertainment is good for everyone to although a few restrictions abound. Including that certain movies cannot be seen by children below the ages of 10 and that adults that are hypertensive cannot see the movies since it may not be medically advisable for them.

Meanwhile Grand Zero also has other effects like the 3D, combining the wind and wave motion and also the 4D experience which has water spraying effects and even rain fall. However, the 5D technology experience was better than all these, particularly with more advanced technology such as rain, smoke, lathing, air bubbles and sunlight.

The management of the company said that the cinema will be opened throughout the day for families, groups and lovers who love recreation and adventures.

It promised that adequate parking spaces have been provided for all while entertainment, food and drinks would be available on request for those who would be waiting for turns to ride on the roller coaster 5D experience.
