Uganda: Victoria University Launches Health Care Centre

Victoria University launched an equipped Health Care Centre which will boost the healthcare services in the country. The health care centre is founded by Edulink Holdings. Mili Nozic the Chief Medical Officer of Victoria Health Care Centre says the foundation of Victoria Health Care Centre is to further help in the development of healthcare and wellness of the population with the latest technologies in health care.

Professor Apollo Nsibambi the Chancellor of Victoria univesrity says there is a growing need for healthcare and the country's capabilities are stretched and yet access to quality services is critical for development of the country.

"If people can easily access healthcare services, they will be more productive and chances of losing manpower will be minimized," he says.

Amama Mbabazi the Prime Minister of Uganda says government is on a way to achieving first class global healthcare because it is central to people's development and wellbeing. He says so far the government has been in position to construct 10 hospitals, 238 Health centre IV, 1000 health centre III and 7000 health centre II and the target is to extend health services nearer to people.
