Egypt: Ex-MP Abu Hamed Dreams of Becoming President

Liberal ex-member of the dissolved parliament Mohamed abu Hamed and founder of the Hayat Al-Masryeen Party said that he will continue to work towards his dream of becoming president and fight what he described as the Muslim Brotherhood's plan to "Brotherhoodize" state institutions.

Abu Hamed told Aswat Masriya that his dream to become president developed when he was young, insisting that he will work hard, despite challenges, to fulfill his dream. He added that what motivates him is his belief that he can do it.

He went on to explain that he plans to fight against all attempts of the Muslim Brotherhood to dominate the state as the National Democratic Party once did.

"Unfortunately, the Brotherhood has not yet learned the lesson and was driven by the euphoria of victory into attempting to dominate. But they have forgotten that the Egyptian people broke down the fear barrier when they toppled Mubarak and are ready to toppled any other regime who acts like a new National Democratic Party", Abu Hamed added.
