Angola: Education Minister Meets With Math Olympics Students

Angolan minister of Education, MPinda Simão, Monday met with three of the four Angolan students who attended on 20-28 July the International Math Olympics of the Portuguese-speaking Countries Community (CPLP) at Bahia Federal University, Brazil.

The government minister received in audience Pedro David of southern Huíla province, who was awarded silver medal, Santa Daniel, (Malanje), with bronze medal. He also received Ericson Domingos and Quiesse Silva, both from Luanda province, without medal.

The MPinda Simao considered the participation of the Angolan students at the event as pride for the country.

According to the official, the participation in the International maths Olympics is the result of the national Olympics the country held in the last two years (2010-2011).

Seven State members of the Portuguese Speaking Countries Community (CPLP) attended the event, amongst Angola, Mozambique, Sao Tome, Cape Verde, East Timor, Brazil and Portugal.
