Zambia/South Africa: Sinkala Flown to SA for Treatment

CHIPOLOPOLO midfielder, Nathan Sinkala has been rushed to South Africa for specialised treatment after falling ill at his DR Congo base.

Sinkala, of glamour side TP Mazembe, was flown to Johannesburg on Sunday by club president, Moise Katumbi.

Mazembe official, Andre Mtine said in Ndola yesterday that Sinkala, the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations winning star, got sick after his club's Champions League match against Ghana's Berekum Chelsea on July 22.

Mtine said medical staff both in Lubumbashi and Zambia, who examined him, recommended that he be taken for specialist treatment in South Africa.

Without disclosing the illness, Mtine said Sinkala underwent some tests yesterday at a Johannesburg hospital.

Sinkala has been ruled out of Mazembe's Champions League Group B match against Egyptian side, Zamalek this weekend.
