Angola: National Statistics Council Officials Sworn in

Luanda — The members recently appointed to the National Statistics Council (CNEST) were sworn in Monday in Luanda, Angop learned.

The council whose members have been appointed for a three-year renewable term comprises officials from the National Institute of Statistics (INE) Angola Reserve Bank (BNA) and other institutions.

CNEST whose president is the minister of Planning, Ana Dias Lourenço, is tasked with producing statistic information in a coordinated way.

Speaking on the fringes of the ceremony, INE director-general, Camilo Ceita, told Angop all is in place for official statistic information to be in perfect articulation, in line with the same methodology, philosophy and technical skill.

According to the official, the just invested body is faced with a great challenge as the country is heading for its first General Population and Housing Census of the post independence period next year.
