Egypt: Grand Sheikh - Azhar Keen On Following Up Causes of Muslim Minorities

Grand Sheikh of Al-Azhar Dr. Ahmed El-Tayyeb said during a meeting with India's Ambassador to Egypt R. Swaminathan that Al-Azhar is keen on following up the causes of Muslims, especially the problems which face minorities, topped with the problems which minorities face like in Myanmar.

The Grand Sheikh affirmed that the cooperation between Al-Azhar and India dates back to more than 1,000 years and is a model of cooperation between the two countries. The best evidence for this is Al-Azhar's dedication of a hall for the Indian citizens that was called "Indians Hall".

On his part, the Indian ambassador said he feels proud of Al-Azhar's distinguished performance at home affirming that the top Islamic institution in the country has managed to take the country to a safe shore.
