Angola: Opposition Unita Opens Electoral Campaign in Viana

Luanda — The country's main opposition Unita party is starting this Tuesday, in Luanda, its electoral campaign with a mass rally being led by its president, Isaías Samakuva, in the district of Viana, ANGOP learnt from the organisation's secretary-general, Victorino Nhany.

Victorino Nhany, who is also Unita's campaign director explained that it is a generic act which will happen simultaneously in other provinces of the country.

He said that for the August 31 elections they count on the support of the People's Party (PP) and Angola's Socialist Party.

Unita launched its election manifesto on 30 of July, which gives emphasis on factors such as employment, housing, health, education and social security.

On the ballot paper, Unita ranks first.
