Angola: MPLA Holds Political, Cultural Events Under Electoral Campaign

Luanda — Political and cultural events with the participation of militants, friends and sympathizers of the ruling MPLA party are being held countrywide, as part of the electoral campaign for the ballot of August 31 this year, Angop learnt.

The central event took place in Luanda, under the MPLA president, Jose Eduardo dos Santos, flanked by his deputy, Roberto der Almeida, and the secretary general, Julião Mateus Paulo "Dino Matross".

In northern Kwanza-Norte province, the event took place in Bolongongo municipality, some 159 kilometres of Ndalatabndo city, led by the party's first secretary in the region, Henrique Andre Junior, whereas in Zaire province a similar ceremony was led by the first provincial secretary, Pedro Sebastião.

Similar activities were held in Benguela and Huambo provinces (centre).
