Nigerians are dying in droves from generator fumes. Do they know what it takes to use one?

Three weeks ago, the people of Uburu, Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State woke up to a tragedy that left seven family members dead. Mr. Samuel Udeh lost his pregnant wife, their five children, aged between one and 10 years and a ward to exhaust fumes from generator. A few days later, Urum in Awka North local government area of Anambra State was thrown into confusion with the death of four persons, including a 95 -year old man in their rooms as a result of suspected fumes from a generating set. Chief Sopulu Nwankwo and his four grand children were sleeping in the same room when the incident occurred.
