Egypt: Possible Candidates for New Govt

Prime Minister Hisham Kandil continues meeting with candidates on Wednesday to form the new government expected to be announced on Thursday.

Below is a list of candidates who Kandil met with and thus are likely to be part of the new government:

Defense Minister: Field Marshal Mohamed Hussein Tantawi (Al-Ahram)

Interior Minister: Ahmed Gamal al-Din (State Television)

Foreign Minister: Mohamed Kamel Amr (Reuters)

Finance Minister: Mumtaz al-Saeed (Reuters)

Investment Minister: Osama Saleh (Reuters)

Oil Minister: Osama Kamal (Reuters)

Religious Affairs Minister: Osama al-Abd (Al-Watan)

Electricity Minister: Mahmoud Balbaa (Al-Ahram)

Education Minister: Mostafa Mosaad (Al-Ahram)

Scientific Research: Nadia Zokhary (State Television)

Insurance and Social Affairs Minister: Nagwa Khalil (State Television)

Communication Minister: Hany Mahmoud (Al-Ahram)

Irrigation Minister: Mohamed Bahaa al-Din (Al-Ahram)

Tourism Minister: Hisham Zaazou (State Television)
