Angola: National Electoral Commission (CNE) Outlines Preparations Ahead of Elections

Ahead of Angola's upcoming elections, Julia Ferreira, spokesperson for the National Electoral Commission (CNE), stressed during the opening ceremony of the training seminar of electoral staff, the work that the Angolan Institute of Electoral Systems and Development (IASED) and the Angolan Elections Observatory (OBEA) have conducted towards the general elections scheduled for 31 August 2012.

According to the Official, the training seminar of electoral staff which will run until 31 July is aimed at monitoring the election, saying that this act is extremely important.Julia Ferreira praised IASED and OBEA, "for taking this significant step, to share with the CNE this honourable task," evidenced by the actions they have performed on behalf of the general elections, just like in the previous elections.

She advocated that the forthcoming elections, the third to be held in the country, serve to strengthen the rule of law and the consolidation of peace and democracy, irreversible values conquered by Angolans with great sacrifice.
