Suspecting that some of the metal detectors could be fake, the Gulu RDC, Chris Owor Odoi, wants public entertaining centres to check their patrons physically and guarantee their security. "We should screen people entering lodges, bars and worship places and other entertaining places," Odoi said during a press conference organized by the army, police, DISO and the RDC's office at the northern Uganda media club in Gulu.
According to Odoi, there are reports from Kampala that some suspected al-Shabab elements plan to attack towns in northern Uganda like Gulu and Lira.
