Nigeria: Rep Condemns JTF Raids in Maiduguri

Representative Kaka Kyari Gujbawu (PDP, Borno) has expressed concern over reports of recent raids of houses in some parts of Maiduguri by the Joint Task Force (JTF). In a statement yesterday in Abuja, Gujbawu lamented that the action will undermine ongoing efforts to broker a truce between the government and armed groups. "The JTF's wanton raids on homes and expelling of residents from their homes is undermining our calls and the new NSA's peaceful approach to end the crisis," the lawmaker said.
