Liberia: Six Arrested for Flogging Police

Six persons have been arrested for their alleged role in the flogging and breaking the tooth of a Police Officer identified as Askew Clinton.

The suspects reportedly attacked Officer Clinton Tuesday night, July 31, 2012 while on his way home, spokesman George Bardue claimed.

Those arrested include, Boryah Toe, Wesseh Glay and Prince Sellah (all 17 years old). Others include Emmanuel Dellon 30, Moses Jones 31, and Siafa Gray 18.

Police Spokesman George Bardue disclosed that during the attack on Officer Clinton, several items including uniform shirt, wedding ring, ATM Card, police ID card and other accessories were taken away by the suspected criminals.

Mr. Bardue said as a result of the attack, one of Officer Clinton's teeth was broken.

The suspects are undergoing investigation on allegation of Aggravated Assault.
