Nigeria: Bauchi to Build One Thousand Houses

Bauchi — The Bauchi State government in collaboration with Private Estate Developers Mubel Company has completed arrangements to build 1000 houses in Dungal village of Bauchi Local Government Area.

The state's Commissioner for Lands and Housing, Alhaji Aminu Hammayo, stated this yesterday in Bauchi when he paid compensation to 58 people whose lands were taken up for the exercise. He said the move is part of government's efforts to provide houses for its citizens, and commended the people of Dungal for their support.

Hammayo, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Alhaji Kani Abubakar Faggo, reiterated government's commitment towards the provision of houses for civil servants in the state. The commissioner said under the memorandum of understanding signed, the 1000 housing units would be constructed within one year, and advised the community to assist the company to enable it execute the project. Managing Director of the company, Alhaji Ibrahim Masari, pledged to sink a bore hole and install a generating set in the community before commencement of the project.
