A prominent headline in Le Nouveau Reveil claims that the municipal and regional elections, which were scheduled for November 2012, are likely to be postponed to 2013. The paper (p. 2) suggests that the local elections could be delayed in order to respect the will of President Ouattara who "needs enough time to settle certain issues" in order to facilitate "inclusive" elections. Through these elections, the head of state wants to give the national reconciliation process underway in Cote d'Ivoire another chance, writes the paper which, however, stresses that "the move is not to surrender to the FPI's grievances."
