Uganda: Govt Supports Green Construction Fete

In an effort to salvage the abused environment, the government has threatened serious action against construction companies that are not practicing green construction.

Green construction is the use of environmentally-friendly material and techniques to build houses and other structures. Addressing guests at the opening ceremony of the tenth Construction and Interiors Exhibition at the UMA showground in Kampala yesterday, the minister for Water and Environment, Maria Mutagamba, said the government would not hesitate to shut down any defaulting company.
