Namibia: Singing Is Di-Vah's Passion

Windhoek — Young and talented RnB and Hip-Hop female singer, Ndinelago Iiyambo, aka Di-vah, says ever since joining Ekia Record in 2006, singing has been always her passion.

The artist, who has stolen the hearts of many in this music industry, says everything has not been easy for her. Since three-years-old, she have been involved in singing, starting sing in the Sunday school choir were she was recognised as best singer. "After my high school, that's when I started with the whole process of writing and recording music. Meaning that's when I started doing music and performing," she says.

She started gaining high momentum after her first single, Ama Soldier, about a girl who is tough and also love to have fun at the same time. "Tough in a way that no matter what people say about her or try to bring her down, she never let it happen because she is in control of her own life, and the fun part is that. She loves to hang around with friends, loved ones and just enjoys what lives have to offer on the fun part. The song have powerful lyrics and people just love it," explains Di-vah.

"RnB and Hip-Hop is my first favourite type of music that I find interesting, and most artists are inspired to do that genre of music. It can be rough at times and can also touch your heart, soul and mind. This is the only part that I can set on my mind at a certain place and start doing my things as a soldier," adds Di-vah.

This year she wants and expects to grow musically everyday of her life, and work on good hits that will get her more fans. "I would love to see myself achieve big things in life, record and sell more albums and perhaps even work with some of my favourite Artists," she determined hopefully. The Ekia Records label embraces many underground Hip Hop artists and was established in2006. She worked with some of her Record Label members on her upcoming album and performed several times at different occasions like Ekia Bash, World Music Day, Namibian Independence Day and Dice's CD Launch. "So far I'm working with a lot of my fellow artists in our Record Label like HimzMe-MezHim, P, and Stix. They are very helpful, they assist me in so many ways and I'm glad to have people around me like them," she appreciates. Her upcoming album is expected to be launched by the end of September and right now she's working very hard to make sure that it's done on time and not to disappoints her fans.
