Rwanda: Women Football League Reaches Climax

AS Kigali will be crowned winners of the 2011/12 women football league champions this afternoon after their final league match against Imirasire in Ngoma, Eastern Province.

The four-time champions beat Inyemera 2-0 in mid week, thanks to a brace from attacking midfielder Shadia Uwamahirwe. In another rescheduled fixture Remera Rukoma got free points without kicking a ball after Rambura's absence on the play ground. With AS Kigali already assured of the league crown, the battle turns to APR and Remera Rukoma, who are jostling for the second position.

Both clubs are tied on 44 points but APR has a superior goal difference of 62 against 24 for Remera Rukoma. APR will play the Winners at Utexrwa, while Remera Rukoma takes on Les Lioness at Ecole SEC in Mutunda

AS Kigali's forward Shadia Uwamahirwe is still leading the goal scoring charts with 29 goals in 18 league appearances; Fatimah Kankindi which APR follows with 17 goals and AS Kigali's Oscarie Iragena stands in third place with 13 goals.
