Rwanda's top two elite golfers Jean Baptiste Hakizimana and Emmanuel Ruterana leave this morning for Mombasa to take part in the KCB East African Golf Tour grand finale slated for August 8-11at the Par 71 Nyali course.
Fresh from winning the Bro-group Golf tournament in Entebbe last month, a confident Hakizimana told Sunday Sport that his major target is to win the prize money of Rwf30m.
The 25-year old former caddie also thinks two day's training on the course will give him and his friend Ruterana a good feel of the greens and conditions.
"We have been training hard for the last few weeks and the Nyarutarma golf course has some similarities with the Nyali course, so the Kenyan golfers don't have too much of an advantage," said Hakizimana, who became the second Rwandan golfer to turn pro after Ruterana.
Over 100 professional golfers from Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi and the hosts Kenya will take part in the 4-day competition.
