Somalia: Gunmen Assassinate Mogadishu Airport Manager

Mogadishu — -Gunmen in Somalia's capital Mogadishu, have shot to death the executive general manager of Aden Adde international airport in Mogadishu Ibrahim Iman Halane on Saturday evening, Witnesses and Officials said.

Two Unknown attackers armed with pistols killed Ibrahim Iman Halane near Abati mosque in Mogadishu's Hamar-weyne district on Saturday sunset at about 6:00 pm local time, after Maqrib prayer and heading his house, according to the locals.

Abdulahi Ibrahim Sahal Gardhuub, the district commissioner (DC) of Hamar-weyne for TFG, confirmed to Shabelle Media for the death of Mr. Halane, saying the manager was assassinated by Al shabab agents, who escaped from the site immediately after carrying out the murder.

Afterwards, Somali security forces have reached at the scene of the killing and conducted a search operation to arrest the slayers, but one suspect were detained so far.

The motive behind the murder is yet to be established and no group has claimed the responsibility for the assassination.
