Egypt: Minister - Gov't Resumes Talks With IMF to Get U.S.$3.2 Billion

Minister of Finance Momtaz al-Sa'eed on 4/8/2012 said that the government of Dr. Hisham Qandil gives the economic file a great deal of attention which will help in solving the unemployment problem, fulfilling the daily needs of the citizens and ensuring fair distribution of the national income.

He made the statement during a joint press conference held with Minister of Investment Osama Saleh after a meeting of the Ministerial Economic Group held under Prime Minister Hisham Qandil.

Al-Sa'eed said that the government will resume talks with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on a US$3.2 billion loan to Egypt.

The Minister expected the annual growth rate to range between 1.8 and 2 per cent this year.
