Luanda — The Angolan Foreign minister, Georges Rebelo Chikoti arrived Saturday in the Angolan capital, after holding a three-day visit to Israel.
During his stay in the Mid-east country, Georges Chikoti was received by president of Israel, Simon Peres, to whom he conveyed a verbal message from the Head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos.
The Angolan Foreign Minister also held a meeting with his Israeli counterpart, Lieberman Aigor, with whom he discussed issues related to strengthening cooperation in the fields of health, agriculture, science, technology and staff training.
The Angolan minister met separately with the minister of Energy and Waters, Uzi Landau, and the director of the Centre for Policy Research International Area, Einat Shlein Michel, with whom he discussed aspects of cooperation in the field of water supply and electrical power, as well as information received from the standpoint of Israel concerning the situation prevailing in the Middle East.
In Tel Aviv, Georges Chikoti met with the ambassadors of African countries accredited in the State of Israel.
The relations between Angola and Israel date back from the "90s, when the two countries signed the agreement for the establishment of political, diplomatic and cooperation ties.
